Welcome to the Central Michigan Hunting Retriever Club!

The Central Michigan HRC is a charter member of National Hunting Retriever Club, Inc. and is affiliated with the United Kennel Club, Inc , the world’s largest working dog registry. UKC Inc. licenses our hunts, maintains our retriever’s points, and awards the titles that our retrievers earn.

We invite you to join us at the local level in training your hunting dog. You will find the members of the Central Michigan HRC to be very helpful and friendly. The more you put into your retriever and your club, the more you will benefit.

Hunt test:

We host an annual Spring hunt test at Sunflight Kennels, in Howell, Mi. Sunflight Kennels has beautiful property where we can put on a  challenging hunt test. . The Boy Scouts are our official bird boys! And they do a great job!!!

Training:

We are increasing our training dates to every Saturday. Most members have the most up-to-date equipment and are more than willing to share it. We spread the training around to different grounds to help members out and keep the dogs on their toes.

We welcome you to join us at one of our upcoming Training Sessions. Our main goal is to help you have the best trained retriever possible. The Central Michigan HRC has a long standing tradition of having some of the best dogs and hunts in the mid-west area. We do this by concentrating on the dogs and not on the small stuff. We also like to have fun – because in the long run, that’s what it’s all about.

DIRECTIONS:

Highland Recreation Area – M-59(Highland Rd.) to south Duck Lake Rd. Duck Lake Rd. to Livingston Rd., turn right onto Livingston Rd. Meet at parking area with pavilion (about half mile down Livingston Rd.) at 9:00am.

Rose Lake Recreation Area – I-69 to Perry exit #105, meet at McDonald’s off exit at 9:00am.

Lapeer State Game Area – Lapeer Rd. (M-24) to Daley Rd., Daley Rd. to Fish Lake Rd., turn left onto Fish Lake Rd., Fish Lake Rd. to Vernor Rd., turn right onto Vernor Rd., Vernor Rd. to Five Lakes Rd., turn right onto Five Lakes Rd., meet at parking area with pavilion on right side of road ( about half mile down Five Lakes Rd.) at 9:00am.

Bald Mountain Recreation Area – Meet at Kmart parking lot at 1025 south Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion at 9:00am.

Oak Grove State Game Area – Meet at Venture Corners grocery store parking lot at the corner of Faussett and Argentine roads (6521 Argentine Rd, Howell, MI 48855) at 9:00am.
